{"id":13973,"date":"2026-07-27T12:21:36","date_gmt":"2026-07-27T16:21:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/irreal.org\/blog\/?p=13973"},"modified":"2026-07-27T12:21:36","modified_gmt":"2026-07-27T16:21:36","slug":"embark-for-cider-projectile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irreal.org\/blog\/?p=13973","title":{"rendered":"Embark For CIDER &#038; Projectile"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\nBozhidar Batsov, who&rsquo;s been writing about <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/oantolin\/embark\">Embark<\/a> lately has a <a href=\"https:\/\/emacsredux.com\/blog\/2026\/07\/25\/cider-and-projectile-meet-embark\/\">nice post<\/a> on integrating <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/clojure-emacs\/cider\">CIDER<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/bbatsov\/projectile\">Projectile<\/a> into Embark. I don&rsquo;t use either of them so you might wonder why I care. The answer is that Batsov&rsquo;s post is a good example of how to add a new application to Embark.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThat turns out to be pretty easy. For projectile, Batsov built it into the app so you&rsquo;ll have to check <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/bbatsov\/projectile\/blob\/master\/projectile.el#L15898\">the source code<\/a> to see the details. For CIDER, though, he adds the Embark functionality externally so you can see how it&rsquo;s done. It&rsquo;s mainly a matter of writing some straightforward wrapper functions, binding them up in a keymap for Embark, providing a target function that identifies symbols, and finally adding the keymap to Embark.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nFor me, then, the value of Batsov&rsquo;s post is that it serves as a how to that shows you the recipe for extending Embark to include new applications.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bozhidar Batsov, who&rsquo;s been writing about Embark lately has a nice post on integrating CIDER and Projectile into Embark.
