Most of them will be familiar to Irreal readers but it\u2019s nice to see them listed along with their explanations in one place.<\/p>\n<p>Jones lists 15 laws or principals. They are:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"org-ol\">\n<li>Occam\u2019s Razor<\/li>\n<li>Hanlon\u2019s Razor<\/li>\n<li>The Pareto Principle<\/li>\n<li>Dunning-Kruger Effect<\/li>\n<li>Linus\u2019s Law<\/li>\n<li>Robustness Principle<\/li>\n<li>Eagleson\u2019s Law<\/li>\n<li>Peter Principle<\/li>\n<li>Dilbert Principle<\/li>\n<li>Hofstadter\u2019s Law<\/li>\n<li>The 90-90 Rule<\/li>\n<li>Parkinson\u2019s Law<\/li>\n<li>Sayre\u2019s Law<\/li>\n<li>Parkinson\u2019s Law of Triviality<\/li>\n<li>Law of Argumentative Comprehension<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Some of these, like Hanlon\u2019s Razor and the Dilbert Principal, are tongue-in-cheek while others, like The Pareto Principal and the Dunning-Kruger Effect, are serious, a pr\u00e9cis of actual research.<\/p>\n<p>Oddly, the most famous law of all, Murphy\u2019s Law, doesn\u2019t make an appearance. As every developer knows, it is always with us and operative.
